Assessment Service for DataProtector Data Centers
Goals of the Service
The site assessment verifies that your data center facility is adequately sized, updated, resourced and maintained to support your project objectives and user base. Site administrators must have the knowledge, information and resources to ensure they can manage the site to established best practices.
- Optimal Service Level
Assess the technical and operational condition of the system to ensure service availability and best performance. Advise on any needed technical or business practice changes. Carry out routine updates to Connected software. - Maintenance Plan
Review maintenance and disaster recovery plans, and conduct knowledge transfer on all aspects of system maintenance. - Capacity Plan
Conduct capacity planning for the system moving forward. - Account Administration
Review best practices for account administration, support or data management, as well as potential integration with other information systems. - Report
Create a Site Assessment Report documenting the results of the above efforts. - Data Center Certification
An assessment conducted by Iron Mountain is required for a site to become a "Certified Data Center."
Deliverables
Our goal is complete confidence in your system, as well as detailed, well-advised plans for maintaining, expanding, optimizing and managing it. To document this effort, we will prepare a written report addressing each of the tasks and findings noted above. Graphs, flowcharts, diagrams, white papers, scripts, software and additional information may be referenced in the report; copies of these materials will be provided with the report.
Scheduling
A site assessment generally requires one to two days of Professional Services time to complete the above tasks; this is typically conducted on-site. If special circumstances dictate, the Statement of Work will be expanded to describe other tasks as requested by the customer. There may also be a need for the customer to confer with an Iron Mountain Consultant before proceeding. In such cases, the consultant will develop a customized Statement of Work that will specify the number of days required for the engagement.
